当地时间1月30日，联合国秘书长古特雷斯警告称，由于未缴会费不断累积，联合国的资金可能在7月前耗尽，这个全球机构正面临“迫在眉睫的财政崩溃”。
古特雷斯在一封致各国常驻联合国代表的信中写道：“这场危机正在加深，威胁项目执行，并带来财政崩溃的风险。而且在不久的将来，情况还将进一步恶化。”
古特雷斯在信中指出，要么所有会员国全面、按时履行其缴费义务，要么会员国必须从根本上改革财务规则，以防止迫在眉睫的财政崩溃。
目前，美国是联合国会员国最大欠费国。联合国方面称，自美国总统特朗普去年1月上任以来，美国几乎停止支付会费，至今仍有2024年的欠款未结清。今年1月，联合国秘书长副发言人哈克证实，美国仍未向联合国缴纳拖欠会费。(央视记者 曹健)
