U.S. adds BYD to military-related entity list--China Economi

On June 8, 2026, the U.S. Department of Defense included Chinese automaker BYD in the latest update of its "Chinese Military Companies List" (Section 1260H List).

In an announcement released the following day, BYD explicitly denied any military-industrial affiliation, stating that the designation is "unwarranted." The company emphasized that inclusion on the list does not constitute a sanction and will not affect its normal business operations. BYD also stated that it reserves the right to take legal action.
