On February 25, the newly completed international oil tanker "Yuneng Kunpeng" completed its port-of-registry procedures with the Hainan International Ship Registration Administration, officially joining the Port of Yangpu (CNYGP) registry and lifting the total carrying capacity of vessels under the registry to more than 8 million deadweight tons.
This means the target for 2026 set in Hainan Province’s three-year action plan for building the Yangpu International Shipping Hub has been achieved months ahead of schedule.
Fully designed and built in China, the Yuneng Kunpeng is 224.9 meters long with a 38 meter beam. Weighing 41,925 tons, she has a deadweight tonnage of 64,896. Equipped with advanced technology and high value-added green and eco-friendly features, she is scheduled to enter operation immediately after the Spring Festival holiday.
To ensure the ship could be deployed as early as possible, the Hainan International Ship Registration Administration made advance arrangements and provided proactive, full-process services including returning staff to duty prior to the end of the holiday period and adopting a closed-loop model that combined online pre-review, offline centralized processing and on-site rapid completion. This enabled the registration procedures to be finished promptly after the official resumption of work, the effective realization of “apply today, register today,” and demonstrates the high efficiency of services under the CNYGP registry.

As of the end of February 2026, a total of 85 international vessels had been registered under the CNYGP, with an aggregate gross tonnage of 4.6374 million tons and a combined carrying capacity of 8.0368 million tons deadweight. Now covering the full chain of crude oil transportation, clean energy, large-scale engineering, and high-end cargo logistics, the fleet’s structure marks a new improvement in the comprehensive service capacity of the Yangpu Port.
